About the Faculty

The Faculty of History at the University of Białystok is a teaching and research unit offering degree programmes in history and area studies, as well as interdisciplinary programmes related to international relations and public diplomacy.

The Faculty combines a strong foundation in historical scholarship with a focus on regional, cultural and political processes in Central and Eastern Europe. Most degree programmes are taught in Polish; however, international and visiting students may attend selected courses taught in English within Erasmus+ and non-degree frameworks.


Degree programmes offered by the Faculty

History

Bachelor’s (1st cycle) and Master’s (2nd cycle) programmes in History provide students with comprehensive training in historical research, source analysis and interpretation of past societies, with particular emphasis on Polish and European history.

Eastern Studies

Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Eastern Studies focus on the history, politics, cultures and societies of Eastern Europe and Asia. The curriculum integrates historical, political and cultural perspectives and prepares students for analytical work in international and regional contexts.

Public Diplomacy

The Bachelor’s programme in Public Diplomacy is an interdisciplinary course combining elements of history, international relations and communication studies. It is designed for students interested in diplomacy, international cooperation and the promotion of regions and cultural heritage.


International and visiting students

International students who are not enrolled in full degree programmes may attend selected courses taught in English within the Erasmus+ programme or as non-degree students. Depending on availability, it may also be possible to attend courses offered by other faculties of the University of Białystok.
