One of the world's most prestigious scientific journals, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), published an article on the causes of the collapse of the first Piast monarchy.
This interdisciplinary study was written by a team of Polish historians, archaeologists and natural scientists. One of the authors is our colleague –
dr hab. Piotr Guzowski, prof. UwB, a distinguished historian specialising in economic history.
In the article, the researchers combine source, archaeological and environmental data to shed new light on the events that led to the crisis and disintegration of the first Piast monarchy.
